Quick Answer

In your first hours, follow the main story to unlock features, pick your Spirit (the male MC leans DPS, the female MC leans control), and absorb soul beasts to grow stronger. Summoning unlocks around level 17 — don't bother rerolling, and grab the free gift codes right away.

Overview

Soul Land: Awakening World is a 3D open-world action-RPG with gacha summoning, set in the Soul Land (Douluo Dalu) universe and published by 37GAMES. Combat is hands-on — non-target attacks, perfect dodges, aerial combos, and on-the-fly Spirit and skill switching. The early game is fairly linear, so the fastest way forward is to push the main story until your core systems open up.

First steps

  • Pick your MC: the male MC is more of a DPS, the female MC leans toward control — their skills differ.
  • Claim the download / launch rewards from your in-game Mail.
  • Redeem the current gift codes (Settings → User Center → Gift Code Exchange) for free pulls.
  • Follow the main quest — most features (including summoning) are gated behind story progress and level.
  • Use fast travel / teleport to reach objectives instead of walking; early movement feels slow.

Spirits & soul absorption

Your character awakens a Spirit and grows by absorbing soul beasts (Spirimon) out in the world — for example a 200-year or 300-year beast. Absorbing costs stamina, so manage it. You can upgrade Spirits from the menu using upgrade books, and you get a free reset before Spirit level 30, so you can experiment without committing early.

Party size is four characters. A reliable early combo is to open with your support (to build SP), then finish with your DPS. Support characters that restore SP — like Ning Rongrong — are very strong early.

Summoning & reroll

Summoning (gacha) unlocks at around level 17. Rates are roughly SSR 2% / SR 16% / R 82%, and the Vanguard summon gives a guaranteed SSR at 30 pulls. There are no character fragments. You earn batches of pulls as you level (e.g. around levels 20, 25, and 28), so reaching your first SSR is mostly a matter of progressing.

Should you reroll? No. Summoning unlocks late and is slow to reroll manually, and you collect plenty of SSRs through normal play. Just start playing and claim your free codes instead.

Early tips

  • Hold the attack button (on PC) for continuous attacks instead of spam-clicking.
  • Learn the perfect-dodge timing — it's your main defensive tool.
  • Prioritise leveling to 17 to open summoning, then to ~30 for your first guaranteed SSR.
  • Don't convert premium currency into standard summon tickets — save it for value packs or the monthly card.
